Playing with dualities of heft and lightness, infinity and constraint, sculptural columns of light are realized in a warm satin nickel. Designed to exist in a state of anticipatory suspension, the chain-like form descend from the ceiling and hover unnaturally low to the floor over a tinted mirror, allowing viewers to experience each link’s inherent sense of tension up close.
A musing in geometry, hexagonal slices are offset and overlapped, beaming a sliver of light onto its counterpart. The soft reflection created offers a romanced glow to a room while obscuring the light source. These segments of light are connected by open links creating spaciousness through pattern. Maillage illustrates a portion of a larger custom installation and is offered in a variety of finishes and colors.
Maillage in French refers to an arrangement of interconnected elements that create a structure – emphasizing the way in which these components connect to form a cohesive whole.
